Makes you just wanna’ say, “Phuket!” But I suppose the regional governments already said that years ago by declining to implement an Indian Ocean tsunami warning network.

My favorite part of the TV coverage (at least what I saw on Fox and CNN) is the fact that they always find it necessary to mention, "...including 13 Americans."
I think in this day and age, any time there is a large disaster anywhere in the world, it's safe to assume that there were at least a handful of Americans in the area. If you ask me, it's not really worth mentioning in every news report unless it was an unusually large number of Americans.
